Shelton J. Haynes

Founder & CEO, MEH Advisory LLC

Shelton J. Haynes is the Founder & CEO of MEH Advisory LLC and a seasoned executive leader with 15+ years of C-suite experience building stronger institutions across complex, high-visibility environments. He partners with boards and leadership teams to reduce risk, improve performance, and execute priorities by installing the systems that make organizations durable—clear decision structures, disciplined operating cadence, and accountable execution.

Shelton’s leadership is defined by transformation at scale. He has led organizations with enterprise-level operating demands—large teams, significant budgets, high public accountability—and is known for bringing structure to complexity while developing the next generation of leaders. His leadership tree continues to grow—leaders he has coached and advanced continue to drive impact across organizations and sectors.

Before founding MEH Advisory, Shelton served as President & CEO of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC), following prior service as Chief Operating Officer. In those roles, he helped modernize infrastructure and operations while driving measurable outcomes—including a central leadership role in the $185M Riverwalk Heights (Riverwalk 9) transaction (including ground-lease completion), delivery of major capital modernization such as the Sportspark renovation, and the renovation of the Youth Center paired with the creation of a New York State–approved youth program. He also institutionalized community engagement forums and strengthened public grant-making by streamlining processes and training grantees in program management, compliance, and funding strategy.

Shelton’s work has been recognized through honors including City & State’s Manhattan Power 100 (2022, 2023), the Rudy W. Powell Memorial Community Service Award, and multiple awards tied to historic and community-centered capital projects.

MEH Advisory reflects Shelton’s belief that performance isn’t a slogan—it’s a system. The firm provides integrated support across five core areas:

  • Finance — budgeting, forecasting, controls, decision-ready reporting
  • Operations — operating cadence, performance systems, process improvement
  • Legal & Compliance — policy infrastructure, risk readiness, governance support
  • Capital Plans — capital planning, project oversight, delivery discipline
  • Grant Management — pre-award through closeout, compliance, reporting
